Reclaiming the joy of dressing
You’ve been through significant changes and challenges in your health and body image and are looking for a personal styling consultant who knows how to help you feel like yourself again
Hello and welcome !
Hello and Welcome!
I’m Sabria, a certified inclusive personal stylist and self-image coach based in Berlin.
I worked in retail fashion for 10 years helping women find the outfits that would make them glow for a special occasion or picking out the pieces that would fit what their daily life demanded. When my Mom went through cancer, I saw not only how much illness can change a body but how much going through those traumatic episodes can leave us feeling detached from our own bodies. She was living in a shell she no-longer recognised as hers and the time we spent in redefining her style, finding pieces that worked with her became the final step in the healing process. As her wardrobe changed, her energy shifted, she became more accepting of the change she had been through and that was the moment I realised that my experience in fashion and style had a much deeper meaning for women who are living with changes and chronic illness or disability.
Living with endometriosis myself, I know what it’s like to dress a body that’s sometimes sore, that changes by the day - or the hour. I know how important it is to find clothes that allow you to feel comfortable in your body so you can carry on being confidently you.
My own experience and that of working with women who are going through body change lead me to develop a real interest in adaptive fashion, pieces that are created to work with bodies that change or that have different access and closure needs. Fashion brands are waking up to the fact that we don’t all have the same bodies. I developed a guide to the brands to look out for if you’re dealing with a bloated body, sensitive skin ... (plus other categories as included in your freebie).
Why Spoons in the Closet
Some days, getting dressed costs more energy than you have. It’s easier to opt for the same outfit you know you can manage but doesn’t reflect anything of who you are. You’re in survival mode, you just need to get through the day.
The name Spoons in the Closet comes from spoon theory — the idea that each day you have a limited number of "spoons," units of energy to spend. Getting dressed can cost several before you've even left the house.
Spoons in the Closet gives you a closet that protects your energy. Your wardrobe is no longer a source of silent frustration or annoyance, it’s a place that can actually give you energy, and help you to feel confident in your body.
The only fashion rules that matter…
No morphology charts, no colour analysis, no rules about what you should wear. My work focuses on unclothed cognition, fashion therapy and adaptive clothing to create outfits that work with you. Your wardrobe becomes a source of energy. We combine pieces you love with pieces that work with what your body needs. Whether you’re dealing with chronic illness, sensitive skin, a changed profile or other more complex needs, together we find your spoons in the closet.
Whatever you are going, or have been through, you deserve to enjoy dressing, take care of yourself and feel yourself once again in the clothes that you wear.
… Because style fits every body and the best outfit is self-acceptance
